Tim McFarlane featured in the PFF Collection Tribeca Showcase
Bridgette Mayer Gallery is pleased to announce Tim McFarlane's inclusion in the Petrucci Family Foundation Tribeca Showcase.
The PFF Collection was started about a decade ago for the expressed purpose of lending work by African American artists to museums and galleries in support of an effort to expand the American Art canon. Now about 500 works of art, the PFF Collection has collaborated with major institutions ranging from the likes of the Portland (OR) Art Museum and the Wadsworth Atheneum to campus-based museums, including Hampton and the University of Mary Washington. The showcase will bring over 35 works—split between 20th-century legends like Sam Gilliam and Palmer Hayden and upstart artists under 50 working mainly in the mid-Atlantic like Ify Chiejina and Tyler Ballon—to provide a glimpse into the breadth and depth of the PFF Collection.
The Tribeca showcase location at 371 Broadway will be open from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from May 4th through June 10th. It will also be available by appointment. PFF will host intimate dialogues every evening from 6-7 pm.
